Participate, Donate, and Share Luke’s Light – Let’s Make a Difference Together
The world was a better place with Lucas Terrill Kitchen in it. Luke had a big, tender, compassionate heart. He was kind and thoughtful, loved to laugh and play, and brought sunshine to everyone around him.
When Luke died by suicide, the world lost a beautiful soul. We miss him, grieve him, and remember him.
Our foundation exists to honor Luke’s memory by supporting activities, projects, and individuals that embody his spirit of kindness, compassion, positivity, and love. We also aim to raise awareness about suicide and suicide prevention, spreading the message that You Matter, You are Loved, and You are Irreplaceable. We want to help those struggling with mental health challenges, financial hardships, and emotional experiences, making them feel seen, heard, and understood. Our goal is to connect them with resources that help them cope with life’s challenges, making them feel less alone and giving them hope.
Each September, the Lucas Terrill Kitchen Foundation hosts our main fundraiser, the Run 4 Your Luke 5K, to align with Suicide Awareness Month. On the last Saturday of September, participants walk, run, or bike in Luke’s honor either in Hoytsville, Utah—Luke’s hometown—or virtually from anywhere in the world. We say, “Any day in September, anywhere in the world,” to encourage as many people as possible to participate.
Funds raised from the Run 4 Your Luke 5K and generous donations from local businesses and individuals help us fund scholarships and charitable contributions. Each spring, the Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors who embody Luke’s traits of kindness, compassion, positivity, and love. Additional criteria include academic achievement, commitment to community service, and demonstrated financial need. To date, we have awarded over $30,000 to more than 20 high school seniors.
As our funding increases, we can help more people through scholarships, resources, and education. Last year, for example, we provided special equipment for a preschool, a television for a high-risk mental health facility, paid counseling bills for a suicide survivor, and offered anonymous cash support to a family in need.
We invite you to join us in honoring Luke by championing individuals and causes that bring more love, compassion, kindness, and empathy into the world. Help us increase awareness of suicide and suicide prevention.
There are many ways you can get involved:
