Luke was always a doodler. Ever since he was little, he was always drawing, creating, and coloring. This passion continued into his adult life, where he designed superheroes and game pieces for his gaming design classes in college.
One of the special ways we honor Luke each year is by incorporating his artwork into the t-shirt design and commemorative medal for all 5K participants. Each of Luke’s drawings is a precious keepsake that reminds us of his playful personality and creative mind. These sketches carry memories of a life lost too soon, but they also preserve moments of creativity and innocence from a different time.
Seeing these drawings brings a mix of emotions — sadness for the untold story behind each line, but also happiness for the innocence they captured. Turning these sketches into wearable art feels like a tribute, a way to honor Luke’s creative spirit and unique perspective. It’s a reminder that every life, no matter how brief, leaves an imprint that can be celebrated and remembered in meaningful ways.
